There are some MPEG-2 files from the Prelinger archive that are 480 x 480. Most files are 352 x 480, 704 x 480 or 720 x 480 which are legal for NTSC DVDs.

If you have a movie that is not a legal DVD resolution and you want to resize it, I can recommend one of the modified versions of VirtualDub. Either VirtualDubMod or VirtualDubMPEG2.

Load the movie, add the resize filter and maybe a noise reduction filter. Then frameserve to an MPEG encoder such as MainConcept or TMPGEnc.

Yes, but... how can I guess the mpeg2 format before downloading it, so I can avoid 480x480 clips? Would be useful to have mpeg2 resolution written somewhere in the move detail page.
